"Hydraulic Pivoting Stiff-Leg"


All tow operators have experienced the problems of having traffic backed up with a truck down a ravine and the law enforcement not wanting you to black lanes of traffic or on a tight narrow road with no possible way to get your recovery unit turned around and squared up to the vehicle you need to extract.  The SP-850 option can solve these problems with a hydraulic pivoting stiff-leg to handle tough side pull recovering without shutting down the highway.  This European designed and proven technology is available with a combination of winch options on your new 7035 or 9055.

 

CENTURY SP-850 RECOVERY UNIT  - SPECIAL FEATURES

The SP-850 will be offered in 2 models using the 7035 and 9055 basic units.  Standard features offered in these two models will be the same when ordering the SP-850 option.

The SP-850 will have a minimum C.B. requirement of 204" and will offer dual side outriggers, hydraulic pivot pad and/or spade feature with D-ring.  Manual controls will be at the main control stations. 

7035 SP-850 - 35 Ton
      (4) 35,000 lb. Planetary Winches with Air Tensioners
      and Releases, 2 Located on SP-850 Legs with Farelead
      and 2 Located on Recovery Boom with Standard 7035
      Sheave Head.

9055 SP-850 - 50 Ton
      (2) 35,000 lb. Planetary Winches with Farelead, Air
      Tensioner and Air Releases Locate on SP-850 Legs and
      (2) 50,000 lb. Planetary Winches with Air Tensioners
      and Air Releases Located on Recovery Boom with
      standard 9055 Sheave Head.

For additional holding power on rear pulls, the operator is able to lower the front stiff-legs to be used in conjunction with the rear jack legs for increased holding and stability.

The swivel feet on the stiff-legs may be used as a flat pad for stability on hard packed surfaces such as asphalt and concrete or the operator may flip a plunger pin and lock the pad into a spade position for more holding power on softer terrain

A D-ring is provided that can be used on the top or bottom of the stiff-leg for use with multiple part lines.

The tool compartment under SP-850 provides an ideal location to store your heavy duty wheel lift attachments or additional recovery equipment.

A 204" Aluminum Body Option is also available.
 

CENTURY SP-850 RECOVERY UNIT - CHASSIS RECOMMENDATIONS


Chassis requirements for these units should have minimum requirements of 3,000,000 RBM double frame, 14,600 lbs. front
axle, and 40,000 lbs. rear axle for a 7035/SP850 and a 18,000 front axle and 40,000 lb. rear for a 9055/SP850.

Note: Estimated weight includes wrecker & body.  Does not include accessories.

The minimum frame length behind the center line of the rear axle is 40 inches.  The outside frame rails of chassis extending behind cab must be free of fuel tanks, air tanks, battery boxes, exhaust tacks, etc.
